Rachmaninoff’s masterful work, described by Classic FM as “an unassailably epic work of genius”, tells a story of hope and light in a time of darkness and personal struggle. It is instantly recognisable and wonderfully memorable. It is paired with the second symphony of Johannes Brahms, beautifully evoking the summertime in which it was composed. An evening of splendid symphonic repertoire in the hands of some of the finest emerging professional orchestral musicians.
