A richly diverse programme continues the 2024 Friday Lunchtime Concert series.

The Isla String Quartet perform Caroline Shaw’s Plan & Elevation, a piece commemorating the 75th anniversary of Dumbarton Oaks, nestled amongst contrasting Haydn and Shostakovich quartets

The quartet are comprised of students from the Royal Academy of Music (RAM). They were selected to be a member of the RAM Advanced Specialist Strings Ensemble Training Scheme this year, generously funded by the Frost Trust, and receive coachings from John Myerscough, cellist of the renowned Doric String Quartet. As a newly formed quartet, they have exciting projects coming up including a lunchtime recital at RAM in February and collaborating with pianist Sherri Lun to perform Dvorak’s 2nd Piano Quintet at Drapers Hall in May.
