Pierre-Laurent Aimard opens up a whole world of imagination as he performs Ligeti’s virtuosic and dazzling solo piano Etudes.

A performance of one of the richest and most original collections of solo piano music of the late 20th century by the composer’s favourite interpreter of his works. Pierre-Laurent Aimard returns to Snape Maltings bringing his unique insight into Ligeti’s music, which moves between the hauntingly beautiful and the darkly thrilling, and from the coolly quirky to the technically fearsome.

This is a chance to delve deeply into some of the richest piano music of the late 20th century, in the company of arguably its finest interpreter
