Suffolk artists Sarah Bale, Julie Dodds and Rhoda Webb return to Snape this summer with an exhibition called The Pale Blue Dot. Together they bring their unique visions on the subject of change and transformation and our relationships with the visible and invisible worlds, in this exhibition of paintings, photography, and sculpture.
Sarah is a figurative painter. In her emotionally charged paintings she explores the notions of change, identity and memory. Sarah studied at Chelsea School of Art and the University of Suffolk and now works at her studio in Suffolk.
Julie’s interests in history and folkloric tales combine to inform and produce a surreal quality in her images and sculpture, suggesting otherworldly or mystical experiences. Julie studied Fine Art at Suffolk University and shares a studio with the other Magpie artists in Ipswich.
Rhoda’s sculpture and images reflect our own vulnerability and our fragile connection with the natural world. She uses alternative photographic processes and sculpture to reflect these tenuous and intangible links. Rhoda is a graduate of Goldsmiths, London and has a studio in Ipswich.
