Schools:

Come and support our Community Team to deliver our award-winning schools programme. School visits are extremely popular and we currently welcome approximately 3000 children per year. Your volunteering role will help to enhance and develop the educational experience for school children visiting The Red House and Snape Maltings.

Some of the duties you would support with:

  • Assisting with educational delivery to school groups visiting The Red House, Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings Concert Hall
  • Helping to set up small group activities for KS2 children as directed by the Collection and Learning Curator
  • Working with the Collection and Learning Curator to evaluate school sessions

Mini Music:

Mini Music Makers is our music, heritage and play session for families with children under five years old. This is an extremely popular and successful part of our family offer at The Red House and we also extend this to Snape Maltings over the school holidays

With the aim of making both sites as accessible as possible we also work to develop a range of family resources, activities and event days throughout the year.

Some of the duties you would support with:

  • Assisting with setting up the space, signing in and managing refreshments
  • Helping to develop resources and prepare materials for family activities
  • Working with the Collection and Learning Curator to run family events when required – such as Easter activities or over October half-term

This role is year-round. No experience is necessary but a great attitude to working with families and children is essential. A DBS check may be required.
