Chamber Music Residency | 16 January – 7 April 2023

A series of two-week residencies for existing chamber ensembles at Snape Maltings.

This series offers exceptional emerging ensembles the opportunity to undertake intensive study and rehearsal with mentoring from eminent chamber musicians – chosen by the ensemble – on repertoire of their choice. Each residency lasts a fortnight and includes two lunchtime concerts at the Jubilee Hall in Aldeburgh. This opportunity is all about flexibility for the ensemble. Chamber groups are able to plan their own schedule and take the time to listen and work on what is important to them.

For the first time, for 2023 we are seeking applications from ensembles who are interested in developing relaxed performances and / or performances for young audiences (under-5s) as part of their residency time. Up to two ensembles will be supported to explore the meaning behind work in this area and mentored to create a performance which is suitable and engaging for these audiences. Support will be offered in partnership with City of London Sinfonia and Lucy Drever, Britten Pears Arts Community Programme Ambassador.
