The Scarfe Charitable Trust was set up by Norman Scarfe, the distinguished Suffolk historian who was heavily involved with the Aldeburgh Festival for many years, and whose influence can still be felt in the Festival walks. Continued by his partner Paul Fincham, the Trust has for many years been an important supporter of the Britten Pears Young Artists Programme. Beyond BPA, the Trust supports a range of arts and heritage causes in Suffolk, nor least the medieval churches whose history Norman Scarfe did much to illuminate.
