Naomi is a Swiss-British violinist who specialises in historical performance and improvisation. She plays with ensembles such as the English Concert, I Fagiolini and Solomon’s Knot and for the last 4 years has been the concert master of the English Touring Opera’s period orchestra. The ETO has performed at far reaching venues around the UK from Snape Maltings to Exeter’s Northcote Theatre and engaged local choirs in their innovative Bach Passion series under the direction of Jonathan Peter Kenny and James Conway. Naomi has also been touring internationally since 2009 when she started her baroque journey with the European Union Baroque Orchestra and now plays with ensembles such as vibrant, folky Norwegian ensemble Barokksolistene, in their acclaimed ‘Alehouse Sessions’. In 2021 she was associate music director and lead violinist for a touring dance show with Shobana Jeyasingh Dance with music spanning from Monteverdi through to a brand-new commission by Syrian composer, Kareem Roustom which explored Maqams and rhythms from the Arabic folk tradition interwoven with electronic soundscapes.

Another recent highlight was co-directing for an onstage production of Purcell’s Fairy Queen at Longborough Opera which featured Celtic and Scandinavian folk music through to improvised psychedelic minimalism. She is a sought-after tutor and facilitates workshops at Junior Guildhall School of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Cambridge University and Pro Corda.
