Performance resilience coach
As a horn player, Jo plays with some of the UK and Europe’s leading orchestras and chamber ensembles and has been a member of Academy of St Martin in the Fields since 1998. Throughout her career, Jo has been deeply involved in learning and participation work and as a coach, coaching psychologist, trainer and workshop leader, she has worked in settings and for clients as diverse as the Royal Opera House, Frost School of Music, National Children’s Orchestra of GB, The Connection at St Martin’s, Surrey Education Services, Women of the World Orchestra, HM Reading Prison and KPMG. In 2011, Jo was appointed Deputy Head of Wind Brass and Percussion at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. A Master Practitioner of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, Jo became a Guildhall Ignite Coaching Associate in 2017 and Guildhall’s first Performance Confidence Associate in 2021. In each of these roles, Jo has worked with people to increase their self-acceptance and resilience, enhancing psychological wellbeing and performance confidence.
