Charlie Cawood is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from London. Trained in classical and electric guitar from the age of 11, he soon branched out to study music from India and China, and later music from Bali, Japan, and the Middle East. A graduate of the School of Oriental and African Studies, he has forged a busy freelance career, contributing to dozens of recordings; touring internationally, and has expanded his repertoire to include over 20 instruments from around the world. Current projects include playing bass for acclaimed alternative Pop artist The Anchoress; touring as multi-instrumental for Emmy-nominated Classical choir Mediaeval Baebes, and premiering Wu Xing – an innovative new composition by renowned multi-percussionist Beibei Wang. His most recent album, ‘Blurring Into Motion’, was described by Prog Magazine as “a rich musical tapestry, bordering on bona fide genius”
