We brought together some great minds to discuss the health and wellbeing of young musicians, in our latest Britten Pears Arts Think Tank. The results are brilliantly captured by illustrator Jonny Glover in the interactive timeline, below.

The desire to help young musicians feel confident, empowered, healthier and happier lies at the heart of the latest Think Tank organised by Britten Pears Arts. As we know, music can be a physically, psychologically, and emotionally demanding sphere, and as an organisation we are committed to supporting young artists at every stage of their career.

We can take action to mitigate damage to the health and wellbeing of young musicians, identify and address structural causes, dynamics and processes which lead to this, and lay conditions for a fundamental shift in values by creating a new model of music education which embraces wellbeing at its heart. Britten Pears Arts will continue to catalyse conversations, and will work with partners to action the recommendations of this Think Tank.
