In August 2022, Frazer Merrick was on a week-long Snape Residency in the Britten Studio at Snape Maltings.
During the Residency, Frazer experimented with the development of the Photon Smasher, a range of instruments which turn light into sound.
"Throughout the week I got to know my way around my DIY synth PULSAR, and dive deeper into my experiments with Ableton and considering how I want to transition my studio based practice to an on-stage one.
This track Vela was written and recorded live in the Britten Studio, Snape Maltings and shows a snap shot of what we achieved through the residency."
