I am working on a multimedia installation called 'Invisible, Real' inspired by real life anonymous experiences of mental illness as part of a Jerwood Arts /Cheltenham Jazz Festival Fellowship. I am using my week at Snape to compose/record new music, test out the possibilities of spatialised sound and experiment with different ways of working with my instruments as well as gather inspiration from the incredible setting I am in. This installation is aimed at providing a space for people to enter a surreal world where our subconscious is taken out of the dark and mental illness is free to be talked about without shame.Faye MacCalman
