Director Rebecca Hanbury and composer Alex Groves’ new work explores the fallibility and frailty of human memory. What happens when the precision of memory fails us? How does our mind edit and interpret long-distant, semi-forgotten experiences (joy, pain, excitement and regret) to shape our life stories and define the people we are – or the people we would like to be?
Drawing on scientific research, they experiment with sound and music, technology and theatrical techniques to foster a feeling of fleeting illusions, of things forgotten, falsely conjured, cherished and obsessed over. A world where nothing is quite what it seems…
