Britten Pears Arts is a pioneering music, arts and heritage charity based at two beautiful locations on the Suffolk coast: The Red House, Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings.

The Red House was the home of composer Benjamin Britten and his partner, the singer Peter Pears. This historic house is surrounded by five acres of garden, and includes purpose-built Archive and exhibition buildings. Open to the public it offers a fascinating view of domestic life in the mid-twentieth century.

Once again we are looking forward to welcoming visitors, families and holiday makers to The Red House this summer. The Red House will re-open on the 30 March and we looking for three seasonal team members to be work as a team – providing a warm reception to visitors, selling tickets, keeping the retail area clean and well stocked, assisting with general enquiries and covering shifts in the Garden café. These broad roles may also include supporting events and invigilating in the house if necessary. You will work closely with our Red House team which includes volunteers who support us throughout our open season. This is a wide-ranging role offering plenty of opportunities to learn more about an arts organisation, gaining new skills and experience.

  • Confident communication skills
  • Confident IT and admin skills
  • A willingness and enthusiasm to learn and make a positive contribution to a small team.
  • People who can commit to the role until October and who are willing to work some additional hours to help with the June Festival and other planned events.
