Britten Pears Arts is a pioneering music, arts and heritage charity based on the Suffolk coast. It was created in 2020 when the two long-established charities which formed the legacy of Britten and Pears’ life and work, Snape Maltings (formerly Aldeburgh Music) and Britten-Pears Foundation came together.

The Stage Technician works with the Deputy Head of Production and the Backstage team to enable the smooth running of the backstage aspects of all events programmed in Snape Maltings Concert Hall, the Hoffmann Building and other venues used by Britten Pears Arts (BPA) and to advise and assist with the preparation and support of these events.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills together with the ability to get on well with people of all ages and levels of experience and at least 1 years’ experience (including training or freelance work) in a similar role in a theatre, concert hall or other performance venue. They will be expected to work unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends. This post could offer an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their professional career to develop and build their experience and take on greater responsibility over time.

We are an equal opportunities employer and believe that diversity strengthens and enriches us. We positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates of all ages and from all backgrounds, in particular from minority groups and disabled candidates who are currently under-represented at Britten Pears Arts.
