Britten Pears Arts is a pioneering music, arts and heritage charity based on the Suffolk coast at two popular, historic visitor destinations: Snape Maltings and The Red House. It emerged from the creative partnership between the composer Benjamin Britten and his professional and personal partner, singer Peter Pears. We have a number of catering outlets across the 2 sites.

We are currently looking for reliable people to join our friendly Front of House team to cover several seasonal roles, initially finishing 31^st December 2023 but with the potential for extension, including:

• Front of House Team Members to cover mid-week hours with the occasional weekend shift available. This role will be for 18-24 hours per week.
• Front of House Team Members to cover weekend hours with the occasional midweek evening shift available. This role will be up to 12 hours per week.
• Event Bar Staff to cover evening events happening through October-December. Mid-week and weekend evenings 1730hrs-2200hrs.

Requirements for Bar and Front of House Staff:

• Experience in a customer facing role.
• Positive, “can-do” attitude.
• Calm and friendly under pressure.
• Ability to respond quickly and courteously to complaints.
• High standard of presentation.
• Enjoy working with people and are always welcoming.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities for Bar and Front of House Staff:

• Greeting and acknowledging customers on arrival.
• Taking orders, at the table and at the bar.
• Preparing hot beverages.
• Serving prepared food and hot and cold beverages.
• Being vigilant for any problems before they become complaints.
• Epos Till system operation.
• Ensuring that restaurant/cafe tables are laid out correctly.
• Clearing away any spillages as soon as they occur.
• Adhering to relevant food safety policies and procedures.
