Britten Pears Arts delivers programmes in the community and with young people aimed at supporting wellbeing, creating positive connections, and developing musical skills of talented young musicians. We provide year-round opportunities for people to work with professional musicians, through workshops and performances, courses and site visits. Our work takes place across East Suffolk, particularly in Ipswich, Lowestoft and in the Snape/Aldeburgh area.

We employ freelance Workshop Assistants to support this work. Working closely with staff from Britten Pears Arts, Assistants will support the running of sessions – which could be a workshop, rehearsal or a performance – to make sure those taking part are safe, well and have a positive experience.

This role includes setting up rehearsal spaces and joining in with the activity, and may sometimes involve accompanying groups on coaches. You don’t have to be musical, but a keen interest in the well-being of young people and a willingness to join in is essential. Most sessions will be 3 to 6 hours in duration and the level of fee will vary accordingly.
