Britten Pears Arts is a pioneering music, arts and heritage charity based at two beautiful locations on the Suffolk coast: The Red House, Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings.

The Red House, Aldeburgh was the home of composer Benjamin Britten and his partner, the singer Peter Pears. This historic house is surrounded by five acres of garden and includes purpose-built Archive and exhibition buildings. Open to the public it offers a fascinating view of domestic life in the mid-twentieth century. Elizabeth Court, located on Aldeburgh High Street, is student-type accommodation consisting for 16 bedrooms, which are mainly by visiting artists and students.

Due to retirement, we are now looking for a Maintenance Support Person and Key Holder, to cover both The Red House and Elizabeth Court. This role includes carrying out basic routine maintenance and safety checks, locking up at weekends as well as responding to out of hours call outs. Out of hours call outs are rare, however, the ability to attend either location quickly is essential. To be considered candidates for this role must live within 10-minutes of Aldeburgh and must clear an enhanced DBS check.

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience of responding to call-outs, and assessing a situation quickly to decide on what steps to take.
• Basic DIY knowledge and practical skills.
• Clear communication skills
• An understanding of Health and Safety regulations and compliance.
