Overlooking the Alde estuary, Snape Maltings is situated close to the Suffolk coast. It is a popular visitor destination with independent shops, cafes, a restaurant, event venues and art galleries. The site is now largely owned by Britten Pears Arts, a Music & Arts based charity and all profits contribute towards our charitable work.

Our year-round catering venues include the very popular Malt Café and takeway, and our River View Café, bar and restaurant at Snape Maltings. We are also licensed to host weddings in our beautiful setting, which is also hired for private functions as well as large corporate events.

The kitchen team are responsible for menu development and food preparation for varying trades, including restaurant, café, concert catering and events. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is willing and able to be adaptable, to develop knowledge and skills across a variety of catering types.

In particular, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in a busy kitchen
  • Has a solid understanding of food hygiene, and health and safety standards
  • Has experience with delivering food preparation to a high standard
  • Is familiar with a range of cooking techniques
  • Is willing to learn
  • Is adaptable across a variety of catering types.
  • Remains calm under pressure.
  • Is able to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays
