Summer Contemporary is open to all artists aged 18 and over who currently reside in the UK.

There is an application fee of £20 for one artwork submission or £40 for two works, inclusive of VAT. This is needed to help fund the significant costs of processing applications and producing the exhibition to a high standard. Once you have paid for your application you will receive a confirmation email with a link to submit your application details and examples of work.

The deadline to pay and submit your application is Tuesday 22 April 2025, 3pm.

For the exhibition we require:

• One or two new and unseen works to be submitted via email no later than 22nd April 2025 for a submission panel.
• All applications will then be reviewed by our panel and applicants will be advised whether they have been successful or not by Friday 16 May 2025.
• All 2D artworks should not exceed 220cm x 320cm be strung and ready to hang on delivery.
• All 3D artworks should not exceed 50cm x 50cm x 50cm.
• All shortlisted artworks must be delivered to Gallery 21, Snape Maltings between the 1st–8th July and are the responsibility of the artist. The return of any unsold work will also be the responsibility of the artist but BPA may be able to help with returns outside Suffolk.
• All enquiries received by the artist which were originally seen at BPA’s exhibition through our socials or website must be redirected to BPA until the artwork is returned to the artist.
• BPA work on a 35% plus VAT commission rate – a discretionary 10% discount is requested in order to complete a sale and anything higher will be discussed prior to a sale between BPA and artist.
• Artist to link BPA to any social media platforms for the duration of the exhibition.
• Artist to refrain from sharing full and final images of selected work prior to the start of the exhibition unless specifically referencing its inclusion in the Summer Contemporary.
• BPA will have your artwork insured against theft, vandalism and accidental damage, and when transported by BPA.
