Our summer programme opens with a bang: Britten’s well-loved Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra is complemented in the first half by Walton’s Violin Concerto, originally commissioned for Jascha Heifetz and played here by the extraordinary British talent Charlie Lovell-Jones.
The second half features Rachmaninoff’s masterful and exuberant Symphony No.2.
Since the Sinfonia of London made its widely acclaimed concert debut at the BBC Proms in 2021, it has gone from strength to strength under the baton of John Wilson, exploring a broad range of orchestral repertoire in scintillating recordings and performances.
