Eighty years to the day since its first performance, we are thrilled to present Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for tenor, horn and strings.

Stuart Jackson joins “one of our most vital ensembles” (The Guardian) the Britten Sinfonia for this special celebratory concert.

Originally written for the combined musical talents of Peter Pears and Dennis Brain, Serenade is an extraordinary example of Britten’s ability to set a collection of texts bound together by a similar theme, in this case, the world of night, sleep and dreams.

Please note: Allan Clayton was originally due to perform, but sadly had to withdraw due to illness.
