Following last year’s Concert Hall sell-out, 'the Hendrix of the kora’ returns with his band to present his new album, HOMELAND – an exploration of his Senegalese roots with influences from around the world.

Moustapha Gaye guitar
Kemo Cissokho percussion
Moussa N’Gom keyboard and sampling
Matar N’Diongue drum kit

Binta Suso backing vocals

Performing all over the globe as a solo artist and with his ground-breaking quintet, Seckou Keita has captivated audiences including at WOMAD, Hay, Glastonbury, Tokyo Jazz, Chicago World Music Festival, Sydney International and Montreal Jazz Festivals.

He has had collaborations with numerous jazz, pop, Latin, folk and classical artists.

Seckou began assembling his Senegalese band in 2020. Here, the kora is backed with the dynamic, uplifting and at times hypnotic rhythms of bass, percussion, drums, keyboard and extraordinary vocals, lifting the audience to its feet and leaving everyone buzzing!

Seckou Keita can be classed alongside the great Toumani Diabate as one of the adventurous masters of the kora
