Penguin Café Orchestra and all its offshoots have been warmly welcomed at Snape Maltings over the years, so we can't wait for Penguini (fake Italian for "Little Penguin") to make their world debut on the Dome Stage.
Arthur Jeffes has been leading Penguin Café for many years while exploring many side roads and diversions with his string of releases on the adventurous Erased Tapes label. Like his father Simon Jeffes (the composer who founded Penguin Café Orchestra), he loves to turn his compositions inside out to explore new textures. Once he found a way to load his piano into the back of a car, he decided to invite two Penguin Café regulars
– violinist Oli Langford and Andy Waterworth on double bass – on the adventure, and The Dome Stage is the very first stop.
