This forms part of our week of intensive tuition and mentoring for Britten Pears Young Artists on Opera Arias led by some of the world’s best performers, interpreters and vocal coaches. This masterclass will feature our brand new international cohort of emerging singers and répétiteurs for the 22-23 Britten Pears Young Artist Programme.

Julia Faulkner has firmly established herself as one of the top voice teachers in the world, with students performing regularly at the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Vienna State Opera, Royal Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bavarian State Opera, San Francisco Opera, and Lyric Opera of Chicago, among others. In the past few years, her students were finalists in numerous prestigious competitions including the Cardiff Singer of the World, Operalia, and Glyndebourne Cup competitions. Ms. Faulkner is the Director of Vocal Studies for the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center, Lyric Opera of Chicago’s renowned professional artist-development program. She is also a master teacher for the apprentices at the Santa Fe Opera, San Francisco Opera and a member of the faculty at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
