A stunning climax to this year’s Festival: the world premiere of Colin Matthews’ orchestration of Debussy’s Images plus Berlioz’s epic masterpiece Symphonie Fantastique.

We are thrilled to present the London Symphony Orchestra and Antonio Pappano in this unmissable Festival finale.

Colin Matthews has completed his orchestration of Book 2 of Debussy’s Images for piano and today this splendid achievement will be heard for the first time. It sits alongside Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, one of the most radical works of all time. The programme also features Boulez's beautiful Mémoriale, and opens with Berlioz’s dazzling overture from Le corsaire – ten minutes of orchestral fireworks. A barnstorming end to the 76th Aldeburgh Festival.
