The BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists and winners of the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition are back, playing Haydn and Beethoven in the Britten Studio at Snape Maltings.

The Berlin-based Quartet perform repertoire by two greats of quartet composition: Haydn and Beethoven.

The Leonkoro Quartet won numerous prizes at the 2022 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition, widely recognised as one of the world’s most prestigious quartet competitions, including overall first prize, and the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme Prize. The quartet, comprising violinists Jonathan Schwarz and Amelie Wallner, violist Mayu Konoe and cellist Lukas Schwarz, was also awarded grand first prize at the Bordeaux International String Quartet, as well as the audience prize and the young public prize. Recently named as BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists for 2022 to 2024, we will be hearing lots more from Leonkoro Quartet.
