Gavin Bryars, a titan of contemporary music, brings his ensemble to Snape Maltings for a celebration of his extraordinary career as he turns 80.

Featuring his iconic work “Jesus’ Blood”, which turns a homeless man’s simple song of faith into a profoundly moving hymn of universal grace, alongside other unique and memorable works, this will be an evening like no other in the presence of a master.

“The music of Gavin Bryars falls under no category… full of sensuality and wit and is deeply moving. He is one of the few composers who can put slapstick and primal emotion alongside each other. He allows you to witness new wonders in the sounds around you by approaching them from a completely new angle. With a third ear maybe…” – Michael Ondaatje
