Bach's St Matthew Passion
Bach’s ‘Great Passion’ presented by professional and amateur musicians as the culmination of a four-year Passion Cycle.
This performance is the climax of Ipswich Chamber Choir’s critically acclaimed four-year Bach Passion Cycle in collaboration with Amici Voices and the Geldart Ensemble - both international specialists in this repertoire. These three groups arrive at the St Matthew Passion together on the back of rare performances of Bach's St Luke and St Mark passions, as well as a sell-out of the ever-popular St John.
This immersive collaboration is in the best Snape Maltings tradition – a close relationship has developed between some of East Anglia's finest amateur singers and truly world-class professional musicians.
