Handel:
Amadigi (155)

Amadigi loves Oriana. Secretly, his friend Dardano does too. Into this love triangle steps the sorceress Melissa, who uses all her supernatural powers to try to take Amadigi away for herself. In his “magic opera” of 1715, Handel vividly depicts the delirious highs and savage lows of falling in love with music of dramatic contrasts.
