An exploration of the Japanese Noh play Sumidagawa and Curlew River – the work of Benjamin Britten’s that it inspired.

Presented by Dr Lucy Walker alongside expert contributors, this session – which will also be available as an audio podcast – examines the overlapping worlds of two contrasting works of art. They share a sense of ritual, the meeting of temporal and spiritual matters, and themes of spirit and afterlife.
