The Britten Weekend festivities continue with a performance by dazzling duo Sheku and Isata Kanneh-Mason that includes Britten's enduring Cello Sonata.

This concert showcases Britten's Cello Sonata in C major; paired with the Sonata in D minor by Shostakovich – the man who inspired Britten to write for cello, and whose influence can be clearly heard in the younger composer's work.

Brother and sister duo Sheku and Isata Kanneh-Mason are in demand across the globe, as both soloists and chamber musicians. They have toured and recorded extensively as a duo, demonstrating their musical empathy and rapport, alongside breathtaking individual virtuosity.
