An inspirational new concerto for orchestra and an array of percussion instruments crafted from rubbish.

Percussionist Vivi Vassileva and composer-conductor Gregor A. Mayrhofer have created the inspirational project, Recycling Concerto. They have collected hundreds of pieces of rubbish and created an incredible array of perfectly tuned and untuned percussion instruments from them, offering a greater range of sounds and timbres than a normal orchestra’s percussion section. Here they showcase the resulting Concerto with the brilliant orchestral players of the Britten Sinfonia, prefacing the performance with a short talk.
