An invigorating afternoon featuring performers and composers from the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme premiering six brand-new works alongside other contemporary works of the 21st century. Young artists from the November 2022 Composition & Performance Course return to the Aldeburgh Festival to perform music workshopped during their intensive ten-day period at Snape Maltings, overseen by Colin Matthews, Mark-Anthony Turnage, Claire Booth and Jonathan Berman.

Founded by Oliver Knussen and Colin Matthews in 1992, this training for composers, instrumentalists and singers is a flagship course within the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme, and many of its alumni have gone on to become internationally established composers. Composers and performers work together very closely, giving participants a uniquely collaborative and in-depth experience of music-making. This concert is a showcase performance for our home-grown group of talented emerging contemporary performers playing music born out of a period of collaboration with the next generation of composers.
