The Britten Pears Chamber Choir presents three contrasting choral mass settings from across five centuries – showcasing soaring voices and the church's wonderful pipe organ.

The Britten Weekend continues in the wonderful setting of Orford Church, home of so many electrifying premieres of his work. In the spirit of honouring this unique heritage, the Britten Pears Chamber Choir (formerly Aldeburgh Voices) reimagines a splendid choral concert from the Aldeburgh Festival’s early days.

Taverner’s Western Wynde Mass is thoughtfully paired with short organ pieces by his contemporaries Byrd and Cabezón. These contrast with more modern works – the colourful harmony of Kodály and the condensed drama of Britten.
