Discovering the heritage of Blues: Aldeburgh Young Musicians take an energetic exploration of the traditions that built modern jazz and its international counterparts.

The young artists of AYM perform music inspired from endless styles in the expansive lineage of Black American music.

AYM is an artist development programme for musicians aged 10–18. AYM focuses on unlocking musical creativity and potential through a range of inspirational and immersive residential courses and additional activities.

Meet the tutors

China Moses

The self-dubbed high school dropout has been an artist her entire life. Daughter of legendary activist and director Gilbert Moses III and internationally acclaimed musician Dee Dee Bridgewater, China understands the music and its surrounding culture from the inside out.

Jasen Weaver

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Jasen Weaver is one of the most in demand bassists in his hometown and abroad. Under the tutelage of world-renowned musicians such as Donald Harrison and Jason Marsalis, Weaver has become a respected component of the New Orleans jazz community.

Oli Rockberger

Keys man, songwriter and producer Oli Rockberger's teaching specialisms encompass songwriting, collaboration and performance, in 1-1, ensemble and workshop settings.
