The string quartet play Beethoven, Haydn and two pieces by featured composer Bushra E-Turk.

One of our featured composers at this year's Festival, London-born El-Turk creates music that integrates elements of different cultures. In Saffron Dusk, dedicated to the victims of the 2020 Beirut Port explosion, she explores how to grieve in a musical language that mixes her Lebanese roots and her contemporary classical style. We also hear her new work, commissioned for the Aldeburgh Festival.
