The Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival is a not-for-profit festival dedicating itself to promoting the local area and the businesses within it. It gives Suffolk producers, chefs, restaurants and businesses a platform to showcase what they do and earn the recognition they deserve. It first took place in 2006 and has ran almost every year at Snape Maltings.

The next Aldeburgh Food & Drink Festival will take place on 23-24 September 2023. Sign up to our mailing list for details and ticket reminders.

History of the Festival

The festival started in 2006 by organisers Johnny and Alesha Gooderman to publicise locally-grown fruits and vegetables, locally-reared meats and other quality food produce from this region. They were inspired by the farmer's markets held at Snape which had been huge successes. The festival itself was hugely popular and has grown ever since. Over the years notable chefs including Valentine Warner, Henry Harris, Thomasina Miers, Sabrina Ghayour, Natalie Colemann and Jane Baxter have attended the festival.
